We've been having so much fun with this changing gallery of chalk-drawings we're curating on a 4' x 5' chalkboard in a local doctors office. The piece below is #2 in the on-going series, and is clearly Van Gogh inspired!

Brian condensed three hours of work into 1 minute in the time-lapse  below. Enjoy!

What is Form Drawing?

Workin’ workin’! Waldorfish Form Drawing courses are deep in the creation phase as we speak ✨ See my post from last week where we introduced our newest contributing teacher, Rev Bowen! (All details about price, release dates, etc will be shared as they develop, pinkie promise. ❤️) #waldorfishformdrawing (click and then follow this hashtag if you want to be sure to see all our updates 👍🏼)
It’s looking like March 6th will be opening day for the Weekly Art-Foundations course ✨ Follow our profile link to more info about the course including cost, payment options, etc!
#waldorfishweeklyart Introducing... the newest member of our teaching team, Rev Bowan! Rev is currently very busy developing a new course series for the Waldorfish community (YOU!) and he’s also the Pedagogical Development Director at the Live Oak Waldorf School. Swipe left for a hint about what he’s working on 😎 for Waldorfish, and scroll down for a snapshot of the many years of experience he’s bringing with him. ✨ Rev was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After earning his B.A. in English, he found work as a substitute teacher (K-12) in and around Richmond, CA, working in every grade and in every type of class. Heeding the call to become an educator, he searched for an approach that aligned with his inner sense of goodness, wholeness, and meaning. Shortly thereafter, he picked up a hitchhiker who told him about Rudolf Steiner and Biodynamic gardening, and soon after that, a grocery cashier told him about Rudolf Steiner and Waldorf Education (messages are everywhere, yes??) He visited a Waldorf school, and became hooked by the statement:
“If a lesson is going to be alive, it must breathe.” ✨Rev earned his Waldorf Teaching Certificate from the Rudolf Steiner College in 2000. He earned his M.A. in Human Development from St. Mary’s University in St. Paul, MN in 2004. As a class teacher, Rev has graduated three classes at Live Oak Waldorf School, 2008, 2016, and 2018. His children both attended Waldorf schools, Preschool - 8th grade. #waldorfish Waiting for the next #waldorfishweeklyart ? Grade Seven in Waldorf schools is generally thought of as “the year of exploration.” A seventh grader, now fully immersed in adolescence, is ready to outwardly explore the physical world and inwardly begin an exploration of the question “who am I?” ✨The *feeling* life of the seventh grader takes center stage in the curriculum as we use geometry to understand the human body and the natural world we live in. Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man and the work of Fibonacci give us clues about the mathematical formula behind all that is living on our planet. ✨It’s an incredible moment when students discover that the same ratios and patterns found in pentagrams, roses, apples, insects, hurricanes, and the milky way galaxy, are also found in the structure of our own bodies. The observational studies of nature performed by the likes of Plato, Pythagoras, Eratosthenes, Fibonacci, and Leonardo Da Vinci are mirrored by the observational powers of the seventh grader (they see everything, yes?) #waldorfishgeometry #linkinprofile👆🏻
